The Cultural Body: The Story That Shapes the World

Culture is the story a people tell about who they are, where they came from, and where they're going. This story shapes everything—what's possible, what's valuable, what's sacred, what's real.

The Current Reality

The dominant culture tells a story of separation, scarcity, and progress through domination. This story justifies extraction, competition, and the subjugation of both nature and "other" humans in service of never-ending growth.

The Power of Story

Every transformation begins with a shift in story. Before new systems can emerge, people need a different narrative about what's possible and who they are. This is why totalitarians always try to control the stories—they know that whoever shapes the narrative shapes reality.

Indigenous Wisdom

My Tlingit ancestors understood that humans are not separate from or above nature—we're woven into the web of life as participants, not masters. This story creates very different systems than the story of human exceptionalism and dominion.

The Peace Engineer's Story

We are the inheritors of billions of years of evolutionary wisdom, expressing itself through human form at this critical moment. We have the capacity to consciously participate in our own evolution and the evolution of the systems we create.

We are not consumers, not resources, not cogs in machines. We are creative agents with the power to design and build regenerative systems that serve all life.

The Call Forward

As Peace Engineers, we don't just build new systems—we tell new stories that make those systems imaginable. We become culture creators, narrative weavers, and myth makers who help birth the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.

The regenerative future requires humans who can imagine beyond the limits of the current paradigm and tell stories compelling enough to call that future into being.
